A Stormy Night with a Second Child
A Stormy Night with a Second Child
It’s ok, it’s ok
Your safe now, Mommy’s here
I scoop you up and draw you close
It’s just a storm, it moved in while you were sleeping
Clinging on tightly
I kiss away your little salty tears
They were sidling down your precious cheeks, so round and soft
Your head pressed closely to my chest
Skin to skin, we wait
I’ll wait with you, till this should pass
It’s hard to weather the storm alone
We have nowhere to be and plenty of time
After all it late or maybe really early
Siting here with you in this plush comfy chair
A smile falls to your lips, your eyes glance up beaming at me
This is our time
Time I cherish most, just my baby and me
Now back to sleep
We need to rest, tomorrow will soon be here
We will need our strength to make it though
Closing your sweet little eyes, your hands patting my skin
As if to say you understand
You got just what you wanted, just what you were hoping for
Some time together, just the two of us
Our hearts now full and content
Sitting here with you, holding you through the storm
